Cheryl Lamberth Named Bank Secrecy Officer at Franklin Synergy Bank

CherylLamberth.jpgFranklin, TN - January 24, 2012 - Cheryl Lamberth has joined Franklin Synergy Bank as Assistant Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer.

The Bank Secrecy Act requires financial institutions in the United States to assist U.S. government agencies to detect and prevent money laundering, racketeering, and terrorism.

Lamberth’s appointment was announced Tuesday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington. She joins Franklin Synergy Bank from First Federal Bank in Dickson, Tennessee, where she served as Bank Secrecy Officer. She will be located at Franklin Synergy’s downtown Franklin headquarters.

"We are pleased to have Cheryl on our team,” commented Herrington. “Her BSA experience will aid the bank in complying with BSA regulations.”

Lamberth’s banking career began at First Federal Savings and Loan in Dickson, Tennessee. She served as a Teller at Third National Bank and as Head Teller at First Union National Bank in Nashville. Lamberth is a native of Dickson and a graduate of Leadership Dickson County. She attended Tennessee State University in Nashville.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened a branch in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. The bank reached $200 million in deposits in July of 2009, topped $300 million in December 2010 and $400 million in December 2011. A new Downtown Franklin headquarters and branch opened on Columbia Avenue in May 2010 and an office in Brentwood opened in January 2011. In addition, Franklin Synergy operates a mortgage office in Synergy Business Park in Brentwood.
