Franklin Banker Al Gregory to Open Franklin Synergy Bank in Westhaven

AlGregory.jpgFranklin, TN - January 31, 2012 - Franklin banker Al Gregory has joined the Franklin Synergy team as Vice President, Westhaven Community Executive. The appointment was announced Tuesday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington. Gregory will lead a banking team at the new Franklin Synergy Bank Westhaven office planned to open in the second quarter of 2012, pending regulatory approval. Gregory joins Franklin Synergy after a banking career that includes service at Cadence Bank, Cumberland Bank and Franklin National Bank.

"We’re happy to have Al; he is a great addition our team and the ideal banker to open our Westhaven office,” Herrington said. “At Franklin Synergy, he re-unites with a familiar banking team; it’s a homecoming we’ve looked forward to for some time. In addition, he knows our customers and our culture well.”

Franklin Synergy’s office in Westhaven will be located in the Town Center shopping area. Prior to the opening of the Westhaven office, Gregory will work from Franklin Synergy’s Downtown Franklin branch.

Gregory is a Franklin native and a graduate of Franklin High School. He attended Columbia State Community College and received a degree in Marketing Management from McCampbell State University. Gregory currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Franklin Housing Authority. In addition he serves on the Board of Directors of the Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce. Gregory is a Past President of the Franklin Lions Club.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened a branch in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. The bank reached $200 million in deposits in July of 2009, topped $300 million in December 2010 and $400 million in December 2011. A new Downtown Franklin headquarters and branch opened on Columbia Avenue in May 2010 and an office in Brentwood opened in January 2011.
