Mortgage Banker Jason Kaplan Joins Franklin Synergy Bank

JasonKaplan.jpgFranklin, TN - April 3, 2012 - Mortgage Banker Jason Kaplan has joined the Franklin Synergy Bank mortgage banking team. Kaplan’s appointment as Vice, President, Mortgage Loan Originator was announced Thursday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington.

Kaplan will join Franklin Synergy Banker Al Gregory in the Franklin Synergy office planned for Westhaven in 2012. Prior to the opening of the Westhaven office, Kaplan will be based at the bank’s Brentwood mortgage office in the Synergy Business Park. He joins Franklin Synergy from SunTrust Bank, where he served as a Mortgage Originator since 2007.

Kaplan holds a B.S. in Finance from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was the recipient of the Nashville Mortgage Bankers Association (NMBA) Platinum Award from 2009 through 2011. The Platinum Award is the NMBA’s highest award. In addition, Kaplan was a member of the Chairman’s Club at SunTrust Bank in 2010 and 2011. The Chairman’s Club is an annual honor given by SunTrust Bank to the top fifty mortgage loan officers.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank topped $400 million in deposits in December 2011. The bank's assets surpassed $500 million in February 2012.

A new Downtown Franklin headquarters and branch opened on Columbia Avenue in May 2010 and an office in Brentwood opened in January 2011. In addition, Franklin Synergy operates a mortgage office in Synergy Business Park in Brentwood. Franklin Synergy Investment Management, a division of Franklin Synergy Bank offering financial planning, opened in September 2011.
