MyersJones.jpgFranklin, TN - July 29, 2009 - Longtime Franklin Banker Myers Jones has joined Franklin Synergy Bank as Senior Vice President, Credit Risk Manager. The appointment was announced Wednesday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington. Mr. Jones has more than 30 years of local community banking experience, most recently with Cadence Bank in Franklin, Tennessee, where he served as Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending. Prior to his service at Cadence Bank, Mr. Jones served as President and CEO of Franklin National Bank in Franklin, Tennessee for thirteen years prior to Franklin National's acquisition by Fifth Third Bank.

"Myers and I worked together at Franklin National Bank for a number of years. He joins several other Franklin National Bank alumni here at Franklin Synergy and we are fortunate to be able to add Myers to our banking team," Herrington said. "Many of the larger banks have cut back their lending activities. We are open for business."

Herrington believes that the timing of Jones' addition to the Franklin Synergy team will provide a measure of security for Williamson County residents and businesses worried about the economy. In addition to Franklin National Bank and Cadence Bank, Mr. Jones was instrumental in the success of several other area banks, including Sovran Bank and Commerce Union Bank. Mr. Jones started his banking career at Commerce Union Bank in Nashville and he has banked several generations of Franklin families over the years.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and the Herbert V. Prochnow Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, Mr. Myers is a graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened in November 2007, offering a unique combination of the traditional values of community banking, such as trust, competence and expediency, with innovative, technology-based delivery systems. This combination creates synergy, a process in which the sum of tailored banking products, advanced technology and dedicated bankers define a superior banking experience for our customers.
