Franklin Banker Jeff Smith Comes Home to Franklin Synergy Bank

JeffSmith.jpgFranklin, TN - September 1, 2010 - Long-time Franklin banker Jeff Smith has joined a Franklin Synergy Bank team of bankers with deep roots in Williamson County. Smith’s appointment as Vice President was announced Wednesday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington. Smith will be located at Franklin Synergy’s Columbia Avenue headquarters. He joins Franklin Synergy after a banking career that began at Williamson County Bank and includes service at Franklin National Bank, Cumberland Bank and GreenBank.

Smith is a Franklin native and a graduate of Page High School. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Smith is the immediate Past President of the Franklin Breakfast Rotary Club and has also previously served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. He is also active in the Williamson County/Franklin Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Smith is an elder and member of the Finance Committee at Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first office in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened an office in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. In July of 2009, the bank reached $200 million in deposits. The Downtown Franklin headquarters and office opened on Columbia Avenue on May 17, 2010 (the Bennett House office was closed).
