Franklin Banker Kat McElroy Joins Franklin Synergy Bank

KatMcElroy.jpgFranklin, TN - September 7, 2010 - Franklin banker Kat McElroy has joined the Franklin Synergy Bank team. McElroy’s appointment as Vice President was announced Tuesday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington. McElroy will be located at Franklin Synergy’s Columbia Avenue headquarters. She joins Franklin Synergy after a banking career that began at The Bank of Franklin and includes service at Cumberland Bank and GreenBank.

“Kat has spent much of her career with our team of bankers,” Herrington said. “She is an exceptional young banker and we are delighted to welcome her back to our bank family.”

McElroy is a Franklin native and a graduate of Battle Ground Academy. She holds a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Alabama. McElroy is very active in the community; she is a Past President and current member of the Young Alumni Board of Battle Ground Academy. She has recently entered her third year as co-coordinator of Youth Leadership Franklin. In addition, McElroy has served on the Board of the Next Generation of the Heritage Foundation.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first office in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened an office in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. In July of 2009, the bank reached $200 million in deposits. The Downtown Franklin headquarters and office opened on Columbia Avenue on May 17, 2010 (the Bennett House office was closed).
