Business Banker Jerry Woods Joins Franklin Synergy Bank

JerryWoods.jpgFranklin, TN - July 1, 2011 - Franklin Synergy Bank has named Jerry A. Woods as Senior Vice President, Business Banking. Woods joins Franklin Synergy from Community First Bank & Trust, where he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Lending Officer. During his tenure at Community First, Woods initiated commercial and Small Business Administration (SBA) lending programs, becoming the second largest producer of SBA loans in the state of Tennessee.

Woods, whose appointment was announced Friday by Franklin Synergy President Richard Herrington, will be based in the bank’s Downtown Franklin branch on Columbia Avenue.

Woods comes to Franklin Synergy Bank with over 30 years of experience in many facets of commercial banking. He has spent the majority of his career serving the needs of closely held small to mid-sized family owned business. Woods has also focused on the credit needs of growing small businesses through use of the various loan products offered in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Jerry Woods, his wife Wendy, and their two children reside in Franklin. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Franklin Classical School. Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened a branch in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. The bank reached $200 million in deposits in July of 2009 and topped $300 million in December 2010.
