Franklin Synergy Bank Debuts Investment Management Division

Franklin, TN - September 12, 2011 - Franklin Synergy Bank announced a new financial services division today, Franklin Synergy Investment Management. The announcement, made by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington marks the bank’s planned move into Investment Management. Franklin Synergy Banker David McDaniel was tapped to lead this new resource for the bank’s customers.

"When we opened in 2007, we planned to be a full service community bank, offering our customers personalized guidance and advice for every stage of their financial lives," commented Herrington. "These are unsettling times for investors and our strength is listening to our customers and then providing relationship banking and investment management tailored to their individual needs."

McDaniel will lead a team of experienced, highly qualified financial professionals offering a broad array of investments as well as individual retirement planning, estate planning, life and long-term care insurance. Franklin Synergy Investment Management will serve customers at the bank’s Downtown Columbia Avenue and Cool Springs-Aspen Grove branches.

With more than eighteen years of professional investment experience, Brentwood native McDaniel joined Franklin Synergy in April after serving as Regional President at Community First Bank & Trust in Cool Springs. He has also held various roles at First American Bank, Equitable Securities and Merrill Lynch. McDaniel earned a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. He holds Series 7, Series 24, Series 65 and Series 66 licenses.

Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened a branch in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. The bank reached $200 million in deposits in July of 2009 and topped $300 million in December 2010. A new Downtown Franklin headquarters and branch opened on Columbia Avenue on May 17, 2010 (the Bennett House branch was closed). An office in Brentwood opened in January 2011. In addition, Franklin Synergy operates a mortgage office in Synergy Business Park in Brentwood. Franklin Synergy Investment Management, a division of Franklin Synergy Bank offering financial planning opened in September 2011.
