Franklin, TN - December 1, 2011 - Local banker Will Powell has joined the Franklin Synergy Bank Downtown Franklin team. Powell, whose appointment was announced Thursday by Franklin Synergy Bank President Richard Herrington, will serve as a Customer Service Representative.
Local Banker Will Powell Joins Franklin Synergy Bank
His banking career includes service at Cadence Bank in Franklin. Prior to his banking career, Powell served as Project Manager at William Powell Company in Franklin, supervising various phases of custom real estate development.
Powell is a Franklin native, a graduate of Battle Ground Academy and The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. In addition, he studied at the University of Alicante in Alicante, Spain.
“We are delighted to have Will join us in Franklin,” commented Herrington. “Many of our customers know Will and he’s an excellent fit with our team.”
Powell is active in the community through the Next Generation Heritage Foundation, where he serves on the Board of Directors. He’s also active with Habitat for Humanity.
Franklin Synergy Bank opened its first branch in November 2007 in Cool Springs and earned its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. The bank reached $100 million in deposits in October 2008, the same month Franklin Synergy opened a branch in the Bennett House in downtown Franklin. The bank reached $200 million in deposits in July of 2009 and topped $300 million in December 2010. A new Downtown Franklin headquarters and branch opened on Columbia Avenue on May 17, 2010 (the Bennett House branch was closed). An office in Brentwood opened in January 2011.
