Is it time to be optimistic about the economy?

National and local economic conditions continue to weigh heavily on the hearts and minds of our customers. Although our county has not suffered severe economic disruptions, we are not immune to real estate and business cycles. Our perspective is that the national economy is beginning to show signs that the bottom of the business and real estate cycles are close and we will begin to see improvement in the next several months. Locally, our downturn has been “shallow” and we are seeing many positive economic signs. Patience is still an important component of our economic recovery plan.

As the economy improves and the focus of federal monetary policy becomes inflation, we anticipate rising interest rates. This will be helpful for customers who save; customers who have been penalized by anemic interest rates on savings accounts. We have designed several CD-related products to allow customers to take advantage of rising interest rates. Any of our bankers can help you design your personal savings and short-term investment plan.

It is an exciting time to be in banking in Franklin! We are encouraged by our success to date and the reception we have received in Williamson County. Thank you for your continued support of Franklin Synergy Bank. We are laying a strong foundation for a legacy Williamson County bank, and we are proud to be part of this process.

We’d like to share highlights of our progress with you today.

Smart Ideas for Your Economic Stimulus Payment

  1. Start an Emergency Fund. During uncertain economic times, it makes sense to have funds set aside for emergencies. Use your Economic Stimulus Payment to start one through a savings account or a money market fund.
  2. Add to your retirement savings. A Franklin Synergy Bank IRA is a great way to save for retirement. Talk to your Franklin Synergy Bankers about using your payment to start an IRA or add to an existing account.
  3. Pay Down Debt. Pay down your high-interest, non-deductible debt. Always a smart idea.
  4. Save For College. A college education is more expensive today than ever before. How much will it cost when your children are ready to go? Talk to a Franklin Synergy Banker about savings for your children’s college expenses.
  5. Keep it Safe. If you are unsure what to do with your Economic Stimulus Payment, for now just keep it safe while earning interest in a Franklin Synergy Bank savings account, money market account or Certificate of Deposit.

Franklin Synergy Bank Travel Club in Romantic Italy! From Rome to Florence to Venice to Milan, our intrepid travel club enjoyed the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy during a 9 day tour in late April. Highlights of the trip included a tour of Vatican City to see all of the fabulous artwork, the Sistine Chapel, the Pieta, and a chance to see Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter's Square. From gondola rides in Venice to the Uffizi Gallery and the leather markets of Florence, to the Coliseum in Rome, our group enjoyed great food and fellowship throughout the trip. We lingered on the Spanish Steps and tossed a coin into Trevi Fountain to ensure that we would return to Rome!
